January in Cartagena

On Saturday January 27th, 2018 I will travel with my wife to Cartagena, Colombia. Together we will celebrate with one of my closest friends his 40th birthday. Most travelers coming from the states are flying Jetblue.

We booked hotel rooms in the northern part of the city. An area new to us. But on the rise.

We will visit the usual suspects Baru, Laguito. But will visit some new places, like Punta Arena and Isla del Rosario. Upon our return I will update my list of best beaches of Cartagena.

March Easter family cruise

8 days on the Carnival Vista. One of the best ships in the Carnival cruise line fleet.

This trip is a yearly tradition. However, we skipped it the last couple of years to explore other options. But cruising is what we most love. Hence, our return to cruising for 2018.

Check out some great restaurants and outdoor activities on the Vista.

Before the Cruise Brickell Miami

I flew into Miami a week before the cruise.  Using my miles was able to get a really good deal. However, I was also able to take care of some corporate business and some sick views.

Epic summer family vacation (pending)

We arrive in Los Angeles on June 23rd. Our flights are all on Jetblue. From Medellin to Fort Lauderdale. Followed by Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles. During this trip we will visit all of the California baseball stadiums.

During our time in California we will rent a car in Los Angeles which we will later drop off in Seattle.

We will watch a lot of baseball

Starting with the Anaheim Angels June 24th game versus the Chicago Cubs. Followed by the June 30th Los Angeles Dodgers game versus the Colorado Rockies. Then July 1st the San Diego Padres game versus the Pittsburgh Pirates in San Diego. Can’t wait.

Some of the top places I want to visit; Reagen museum and Joshua tree.

From June 27th-June 30th we will visit Yosemite park and Santa Barbara California.

Followed by a short trip to Las Vegas. Before driving north to San Francisco and Oakland. Where we will watch the Giants and the A’s.

Road to the emerald city

Following the July 20th A’s vs Giants game we continue our drive north. Making stops in Eugene and Portland before arriving in Seattle, Washington. Our 7 day cruise to Alaska sets sail on July 24th from Seattle.

Upon our return to Seattle we will watch the Mariners play two home games. One vs the champion Houston, Astros.

Back to Cartagena

Our kids receive a week off from school in October. It’s the perfect time to visit Cartagena. Furthermore, this will be their first ever trip to Cartagena. Again, we will check out and review some new accommodations.

New Orleans with the Wife

Celebrating my wife’s bday in the amazing city of New Orleans. Great food, amazing drinks and some jazz, New Orleans is hard to beat.

Christmas in the states

First we fly into Fort Lauderdale on Jetblue December 13th. Then we rent a car and drive to New York to visit my family and friends for Christmas. However, our year will end aboard the breathtaking Carnival Breeze. The Carnival Breeze departs on December 29th for a 7 day cruise.

In conclusion 2018 will be an amazing travel year for us. Follow every step of this journey via Facebook and or Twitter.
